Tony da Dhaba, Lonavala
TONY DA DHABA, LONAVALA
O' Shastriyakaal ji!
'A meaty menu it was! On their suggestion we had the non veg platter, which had some delicious ones. The Dal was as always a must eat from the dhaba! The glass of chaas was a true Dhaba feel. The meal was complete with mouth watering 'Jalebi Rabri'

We went for the second time to this lovely dhaba. Little did I remember about this place from my first visit. It's a little ahead of Sunny da dhaba....these are the two most often visited dhabas of Lonavala. As I entered, I saw this small well spread area comprising of the poultry of emu, hen, cock, duck, followed by the regular charpoy, table chair sitting layout. Next we saw another option of outdoor sitting with bonfire put up! That is what one dreams of on a chilly night time dinner, is'nt it? The view was completed with a small playgarden with bullock cart, swings, animal stands on display. This not only attracted the kids but also us for a fun picnic photoshoot!

IMBISS
This hangout is in the nest of Colaba Causeway. The "Meating joint" as they call it! Bandra caters another one.
For Christmas time, my palate wished to try Turkey. If you haven't tried hunter's meat or any other rare meat, this is surely one of the good options to start off from. I set out at this joint on suggestion of my little bro. Being an IHM student, he seems to be memorising and creating a 'dictionary' or should I say 'eaterictionary' of Mumbai restaurants.
I questioned him whether it was going to be an unkept stall like place, or was it a very expensive restaurant category. It was casual dining room, with Xmas tree and light decor at the entrance. it felt as if we entered a den!
The menu is insane! It has Quail, Rabbit, turkey, Ox tail, Ham, Duck. A menu to go on with Beer as well. A separate Christmas menu was also there. Quail is not as meaty, but the sauce was very good indeed. Turkey Schnitzel as a crunchy starter was no new like taste. The duck legs were succulent which was to the contrary of what I imagined. Sandwiches are good. The ham and cheese sandwich was upto the mark!

RED OLIVES
Hiranandani Powai, has this one, as amongst the few finest eating joints. The ambience is light, at first I felt it was a Thai specialty restaurant. But it has Indian, Thai and a Pan Asian menu. We decided to skip the courses and have main course only.
The chicken parmigiani was well marinated n roasted perfectly. It was crunchy from top, soft from inside, with the juices in place. After a long time a real good chicken dish.
The lamb steak in pepper sauce was well placed, a well done meat. The prawns with stuffed shrimps and seafood rice flavoured with star anise was an awesome combination. A white wine accompaniment was a topping to this wholesome dinner. We were glad to have saved our appetite for the main course!
After a long time we could manage a dinner out at this place, which was pending on our "eat out list".
They have put up a special Christmas & New Year menu, which includes Goan delicacies! Staff was cordial with prompt service, but it would be more welcoming to see them aware about the menu.

Breeze, Powai
Its an amazing place for its ambience, ambience, and ambience! Never been to an air lounge other than this but my sisters visit to 'Skyy lounge' made me feel 'breeze' is indeed one of the best air lounges of the city!Photos say it all!
Mix of Live matches! view of the admirable hiranandani complex all around, terrific choice and sound of music forced us to dance at our places, click innumerable pics and visit it again in a span of just one month! An appreciated Birthday surprise it was. The end does leave a hole in your pockets but it is still less than other air lounges. The limited continental veg menu had a yummy cheese pizza, the one with spinach topping was not that good an idea. Mocktails were personally disliked.
"A New place, one must exhaust it..."
Thumbs 4/5
