OH CALCUTTA!!

नमस्ते !
The name of the city must be Kolkata now, but these restaurants remind us of its good old name, I personally relate to the name Calcutta.
Located so close to my hospital campus, still didn't know about it. We  picked to go there on a weekend to eat non veg. We were pleasantly surprised to not find any waiting to enter in! Cordial they were , with the Bengali waiters doing the rounds and helping us with the names and their interpretation. Ambience was cosy, cutlery were with Howrah Bridge and trams! Menu was itself demanding us to visit this place again.

Subway, Jaipur

The six inch multigrain bread, with roasted chicken and bacon  as additional topping, minus mustard sauce is the most 'appetizing sub' I have ever had! I have tried chicken teriyaki with double meat as chicken tikka too, but I prefer the first one. A larger sub will need a partner to finish. The double meat as topping gets superfluous. We must be careful to guide the server, to avoid the sub getting overdosed with sauces and jalapenos! I savour Subway as my once a week visit!  The ambiance of Jaipur 's Subway is soft, low, at ease setup. A luscious, delectable choice for non veg and english bread eaters.

Sanjay egg cuisine Opp Birla Mandir,Kachori at Paanch Batti Chauraha, And Juice Centre at Bagaria Bhavan, Jaipur

Three of the common joints of Jaipurites.
Sanjay omlette wala has a shop near the famous Birla Mandir of Jaipur. He sells anything and everything made with egg in our cuisine. 1000 is the number of egg delicacies sold every day!  A small but famous and crowded eat out where one needs to go with his vehicle to eat in or can simply takeaway a parcel. With the minimalistic spices used for an egg biryani, still tasting oh la laa! Food prices are higher as compared to Mumbai's similar joints, as this place charged us 80 rupees for the biryani. Its one of those which I will ring my tummy when I am looking for a simple ,cheap, light food. Thumbs 4/5!!
At the Paanch Batti of M.I road, it was exciting to see the live kachoris being made. Gets terrifically crowded in the evening. They have a moong dal stuffed which doesn't pack your stomach as much as the onion potato one. Both topped with imli (tamarind) chatni. I had one of each, but what a failure it was the first two bites were sufficient. I mean I couldn't eat two at once...I would have preferred them with less chatni. But my husband and Jeetu Bhaiya enjoyed their single dal ki kachoris and of-course seeing my plight!
Papita (papaya) shake-the most strangest shake (one would say papaya shake icks!) said to be nectareous at this juice center.Again a roadside joint with people fighting their way out from the centre verbally and physically! It was chilled with dry fruits, and some rose petals. I did not like it as much as it is admired. However definitely one of the best papaya shakes I have ever had. It removed the previous sullied feeling about it.

Mauritius candle light dinner!

My first ever candle light dinner! And what a place for it to be in- Mauritius!
A complete dream com true! Moven-pick hotel it was, with a personal server. Setup in our very own room 's dine area. He could converse in Hindi too. We started off with the Champagne, my first time. A three course menu. Vegetable salad, chicken curry, ice cream with fresh fruits! The Chef remembered to keep our Indian palate in mind. For every course meal the server would come with his trolley from the kitchen in the monsoonwinter climate, and cover the 300 meters!
